Some Lesser Known Facts About Imad Khalili
- Imad belongs to a Palestinian family. His grandparents left Palestine and moved to Lebanon. Imad’s parents shifted to Dubai and later took refuge in Sweden.
- Imad’s football journey started at the age of five at the local club Högaborgs BK’s youth team and by the age of 16, he debuted for their senior team. After his senior debut, he started receiving offers from several big clubs around Europe.
- Imad played for Swedish under-17s, under-19s and under-21s in his younger days.
- After getting many offers from football clubs, Imad took a break of one and a half years between 2003 and 2005.
- Imad joined Helsingborgs IF in 2005 on a three-year deal. Later, he joined other clubs on loan and played for them till 2007 before signing a permanent deal with the club IFK Norrköping in December 2007.
- Imad enjoyed a good span of regular football between 2011 and 2013, making 37 appearances whilst scoring 13 goals in the top tier.
- Imad was the top scorer of Allsvenskan in 2013, with 15 goals in his tally.
- Imad began to get offers from outside Sweden after which he signed a loan deal with Al-Shabab in Saudi Arabia, before the 2014 season.
