Controversy | • Helping Russian oligarchs evade sanctions during the Russia-Ukraine war Mansour was accused of helping the Russians oligarchs to bypass the sanctions during the war between Russia and Ukraine in 2022. A Ukranian activist, who remained anonymous accused him of helping wealthy Russians move their money into the UAE despite financial restrictions imposed on Russia by the US, EU and other countries. - In 1999, Mansour created The Scholarship Coordination Office (SCO), a Scholarship program for Emirati students, where each year, outstanding Emirati students are selected to travel abroad in pursuit of their education at prestigious international universities.
- In September 2008, Mansour acquired Manchester City from former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. He also owns the City Football Group, which was founded in 2014 and consists of Manchester City, Bahia, Melbourne City, New York City FC, Mumbai City and others.
- Mansour is an equestrian who has won a number of endurance racing tournaments held in the Middle East.
