  • At the age of 9, he started playing football.
  • While studying at school, his teacher, Bruno Botelho, invited him to play for the local club Despertar on the outskirts of Libson.
  • At the age of 10, he got attention from the football clubs Benfica, Porto, and Sporting CP. Later, he started playing in Sporting CP’s youth team.
  • He shared an incident with the media that while returning from school, he was being followed by a man whom he initially thought was someone who wanted to rob him, but later realised that he was there to sign him for the Sporting CP team.
