- Tom Urquhart wanted to become an actor in his childhood, but never pursued it after his school education.
- After college, he worked for newspaper publications and public relations in London for a brief period.
- Since 2000, he has worked in media and publishing in the United Arab Emirates, including as the deputy editor of What’s On by Motivate Publishing, UAE, editor of Dubai Sports City Newsletter (2006) and editor-at-large at the launch of Hello! Middle East.
