Some Lesser Known Facts About Fábio Cardoso
- Fabio started his professional youth career with his hometown club R.D. Águeda in 2003. He played for them for three years before joining S.L. Benfica in 2006.
- Fabio has represented Portugal at the international level since 2009.
- Fabio made his debut for Benfica B on 11 August 2012 against Braga B in a 2012–13 Segunda Liga match. He played as a centre back in the match for 84 minutes.
- While playing for Benfica B, Fabio received his maiden call-up from Benfica’s senior team on 19 December 2012 for a Taça da Liga group game at Olhanense. Benfica won the match 2-1; however, Fabio remained on the bench throughout the match.
- In 2015, Fabio was loaned to Primeira Liga club Paços de Ferreira during the winter transfer window. Earlier, the loan spell was till the end of the 2015-16 season, but later it was extended for the following season.
- Fabio signed a four-year contract with Primeira Liga side Vitória de Setúbal on 7 July 2016.
