ControversiesCriticised for Her Revealing Dress
In April 2008, in the parliament of Bahrain (Islamic-dominated) a motion was introduced to ban her from performing in the Bahrain because of her revealing dresses. However, she still performed in a stage show in Bahrain where she wore a long green dress. In November 2014, she appeared in a live episode of the TV show Arab Star Academy in which she was seen wearing a revealing black dress. She received criticism from the audience for wearing such a dress on public platform. ((BBC))

Allegations of Promoting Racism
In 2009, she was criticised for her racist lyrics. The lyrics were “Where is my teddy bear and the Nubian monkey?" in which she referred to Nubian as monkeys. Later, the song was removed from various music websites. ((The Sunday Morning Herald))
Banned From Performing in Algeria
In 2009, during the Egypt–Algeria World Cup qualification issues, she said that she could not perform in Algeria as people there would not understand his music. To which Algeria's cultural minister announced that Haifa would be banned from performing in Algeria even after she apologised for her statement.
