• Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum tasked him with planning and executing several key projects and initiatives launched in Dubai, such as Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, Knowledge Village, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai International Financial Centre, the Mohammed bin Rashid Program for Leadership Development, and the International Humanitarian City.

• As part of Dubai Holding, Al Gergawi played a central role in founding the Arab Media Group (AMG), the Arab Radio Network, Emarat Al Youm newspaper, Dubai Studio City, and Dubai Production City.

• In 2014, he oversaw the creation of the Arab Social Media Award and chaired the organizing committee of the Social Media Influencers Summit. In recognition of Dubai’s contributions to the media industry at both the regional and international levels, the Council of Arab Information Ministers named Dubai the Capital of Arab Media for 2020.
