  • Ramy made his professional debut at the age of 17 for Al Ahly against Haras El Hodoud.
  • Ramy was part of Al Ahly’s squad for the 2013 FIFA Club World Cup in Morocco. He was chosen as a replacement for Hossam Ghaly, who was ruled out with injury.
  • Ramy has represented Egypt on an international level since 2011. He was the captain of Egypt’s U20 side, which won the 2013 African U-20 Championship.
  • Ramy began to make headlines in 2013 with his impressive performances on the pitch, which attracted attention from several European clubs including Manchester United, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund. He was even called for trials by the French club Lille OSC at that time, but due to an injury, he was unable to go for the trials.

  • Ramy joined the Portuguese club Sporting CP in May 2014. Sporting CP’s first two bids of €250,000 and €550,000 were rejected by Al Ahly. They valued him at €1.5 million, but the deal was finalised for a price of €750,000 with a clause which allowed Al Ahly to earn 15% of any future transfer.
  • Ramy made his Sporting CP debut for the reserve team in August 2014 against C.D. Aves in a Segunda Liga match. He provided an assist in the match and helped his team win the match 3-0.
  • Ramy had to undergo surgery after making his debut with Sporting CP to fix a longstanding problem related to his stomach. He made his debut for the club’s senior side in January 2015 against Boavista in a Taça de Portugal match. In the very next round of the competition, he made his first start for the club against C.F.
