Some Lesser-Known Facts About Wael Kfoury

Wael Kfoury started singing in church choirs and various school events at age 9.

He learned Mawawil (Mawwal), an Arabic traditional form of singing, from his father.

After completing his secondary education, he relocated to Beirut in 1992 to pursue college studies.

He participated in the television talent show Studio El Fan (1992-1993), aired on Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation (LBC). He won the gold medal for Best Singer of the season, a breakthrough in his musical career.

The song Ma Waadtik Bi Njoum El Leil from his debut music album, Shafouha w Sarou Y’oulou (1994), was one of his early hits.

Some of his early music albums include Mayyet Fiki (1995), Ba’d el Sentayn (1996), Tna’shar Shaher (1997), and Shubbak el Houb (1998).

From 1996 to 1998, he served a compulsory term in the Lebanese military service.
