Some Lesser Known Facts About Ascia Al Faraj
- Her father is from Kuwait, while her mother is from America. She spent her childhood living in Kuwait, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
- She studied from class 1 to class 4 in Kuwait and moved to the United States, where she studied from class 5 to class 7. She then returned to Kuwait to complete her education.
- She admitted to getting bullied during her childhood in an interview and claimed that she once tried to commit suicide due to the bullying.
- She suffered from anorexia and bulimia from the age of 14 to 18. She revealed in an interview that she wears veneers as she had ruined her teeth due to her poor eating habits.
- Influenced by her father’s religious side, and during a period of self-exploration, she started wearing hijab (head cover) when she was 19. During an interview, she claimed that her mother avoided talking to her after she started wearing a hijab and said,
But my father’s side is quite religious, and I was going through a phase of trying to understand where I stood within Islam and the confines of religion. So, I covered. The week that I started, my mom didn’t speak to me, because she had been fighting so long to keep me doing what I wanted to do without having to worry about the confines of culture or religion.”

- In 2021, she became the first Middle Eastern female ambassador for the sportswear store ‘New Balance.’
- She has collaborated with several international brands, including Ralph Lauren, Dior, Chanel, TAG Heuer, Tory Burch, Net‑a‑Porter, Estée Lauder, Kenzo and Tiffany & Co.
