Some Lesser Known Facts About Tara Emad

• Tara Emad was born to an Egyptian father and a Yugoslav Montenegrin mother in Cairo, Egypt.

• Since childhood, Tara was fascinated with fashion magazines and shows and told her mother that she desired to become a model.

• When she was just eight years old, her mother took her to a modelling agency by Youssef Spahi in Cairo, Egypt.

• She then did a few TV commercials, and at the age of 14, she bagged her first photo shoot for a Lebanese magazine called Layalina.

• At the same time, she began working as a clothing model and received an offer to walk the ramp at a fashion show.

• Tara gave various acting auditions while she was modelling and bagged a small role in the TV serial Al Jamaa (The University) (2009).

• In 2010, Emad participated in the Miss World beauty pageant for teenagers (Miss Teen Egypt) and emerged as the winner. After winning the pageant, the Miss Global Teen pageant, which was held in Brazil. She emerged as the first runner-up of the pageant and also received the title ‘Teen Queen of Africa.’

  Someone with a solid spotlight on them should always use it to shine light on things they care about. There are so many things I personally feel interested in, especially related to children’s education, and women’s health and women’s education in the region, and in Egypt, and animal rescue shelters. Also, I was an ambassador for an initiative related to recycling, sustainable living called ‘Recycle for Tomorrow.’”
