| Controversies | Marriage dispute According to reports, a case was filed against Ahmed in 2014 by Zeina who claimed to be his wife and also mother of his two children. According to the lawsuit, Ahmed and Zina got married in June 2012 through a customary marriage after which they had twins. The claims were constantly denied by Ahmed who also refused to perform DNA tests mandated by the court. In June 2016, the court issued a verdict in favour of Zeina and sentenced Ahmed to three years in prison and a fine of EGP 15,000 on charges of defamation against actress Zeina. Some Lesser Known Facts About Ahmed Ezz
- Ahmed played table tennis and was an avid swimmer during his childhood. He also won a few local tennis tournaments during his twenties.
- Ahmed since his childhood was passionate about acting. He also starred in a school play at the age of eight.
- After completing his graduation, Ahmed started working as a receptionist at the Accor group of hotels. He later moved to the sales department and by the age of 25, he became the youngest regional sales manager of the company.
- Ahmed gave several auditions between 1995 and 1997 but was rejected each and every time before he was finally selected for a small role in the movie Kalam El Lill,(Night Talks) in 1998 by the director Sherif Arafa.
- In an interview, Ahmed revealed that his father was against his decision to leave his hotel job to become an actor. At that time, he was working in the film Mozakerat Morahqa (Teenagers Diary) and requested his hotel’s managing director for a three-month leave, but his request was denied. Afterwards, he left the job. He further said,
I told my parents about my decision while we were dinning together and my father felt very upset and he left the dining table and did not finish his meal.”
- For one and a half year, Ahmed was left with no work after finishing the film Mozakerat Morahqa. He went back to the hotel for the job where he previously worked but was offered a job with a lower salary. However, later he was offered a role by the director Aly Abdelkhalek in the film Youm el karama (2004).
- Ahmed started making headlines in 2003 and 2004 when he appeared in Hob El Banat (2004), Sanah Ula Nasb (2004), and Malak rohi (2003).
- Ahmed considers actors such as Ahmed Zaki, Nour El Sherif, Roshdy Abaza, Mahmoud Abdelaziz, and Adel Emam as his role models since childhood. Amr Diab has been his singing inspiration since childhood.
- Ahmed has appeared in various brand advertisements, including Pepsi Ramadan Sehour (2007), Ford (2011), Chevrolet Cruze (2012), and KFC (2012), among others.
- Ahmed starred in the film Kira & El Gin in 2022, which became the highest-grossing Egyptian film in the Middle East region. In the same year, he also starred in Netflix’s series Love, Life & Everything In Between’s first story ‘O, Brother’ directed by Sandra Bassal.
