Controversies	• Accused of grooming minors In June 2020, he was accused of grooming and and sending inappropriate images by two women, Ash and Haley, who were 17 while Mini Ladd was 21 at the time. They took to X (formerly Twitter) to post screenshots of his messages. Mini Ladd later published a video on YouTube claiming that he was suicidal and tried to end his life at the beginning of 2017 when the incident occured. He later apologised for the incident and said, "The reality is I was being selfish, I wasn’t thinking about repercussions and I really want to apologise for that." In February 2021, he was banned from Twitch indefinitely due to the incident.

Some Lesser Known Facts About Mini Ladd

His mother is from Northern Ireland, while his father is from England.

He grew up in various countries, and for the first five years of his life, he lived in Dubai. Later, he lived in Thailand before moving to Singapore.

He moved to Northern Ireland when he was eight years old.

He had created various channels on YouTube in 2008, but later discontinued them.

He played rugby for Foyle College, Northern Ireland, for three years and was training to join the Ulster Rugby team, but a back injury forced him to quit playing the game.

In May 2011, he started working as a content creator on YouTube under the name Mini Ladd, uploading video game-related content.

In an interview, he revealed that he initially set a goal of gaining 100 YouTube followers and worked as a cameraman, lighting guy, editor, and director. Though he reached 92, the experience helped him gain interest in becoming a YouTuber.

He considers several YouTubers, including SeaNanners, Utorak007, Jenna Marbles, and Mr. Sark, to have influenced him to start his own YouTube channel related to video game content.

In October 2013, he started working as a Twitch Partner, a digital content streaming service platform.

He pursued a degree in music theory from the University of Hertfordshire, England, but later dropped out of the University to pursue a career as a YouTuber.

He moved to Los Angeles from Northern Ireland in 2015.

In August 2016, he founded ML Entertainment Inc., a YouTube media company that hosts gaming content. He
serves as the chief executive officer of the company.

In April 2018, he suffered from a panic attack, after which he was admitted to the hospital. He took to his social media to reveal that the death of his Samoyed puppy, Mochi, a few days before the panic attack increased his anxiety and caused him to suffer from the attack.

During an interview, he revealed that he used to work for an orphanage in Indonesia with his mother, which inspired him to become a philanthropist and said,

My Mum would take us to Indonesia every six months or so to volunteer in an orphanage. I thought that If I ever got to a position of any kind of power I would try to give back and I am now in that position.”

In 2018, he raised $150,000 for Thirst Project, a nonprofit organisation that focuses on ending the global water crisis, through two 12-hour live-streams filled with different challenges.

In November 2018, he travelled to the Kingdom of Swaziland (now, Kingdom of Eswatini) and used the money to help develop and sustain eight freshwater wells, helping 4,000 people from eight different communities to gain access to safe and clean drinking water.

His work with the Thirst Project helped him become a finalist in the 4th Annual Shorty Social Good Awards for the ‘Best Use of Live Streaming Video’ category in 2018.

In July 2019, he started working as a volunteer board member for Thirst Project.

He started his clothing and retail store, LADD Clothing, in 2019.

In 2019, he launched the ‘Demonetized Tour,’ a live show featuring him and fellow YouTuber BigJigglyPanda. The tour comprised various events including stand-up comedy, meme references, video games and will tour across North America.
