  • Rami Malek holds Egyptian ancestry as his parents were Egyptian. He also mentioned in one of his interviews that he holds ‘an eighth Greek’ ancestry.
  • Before Rami was born, his parents and his elder sister moved from Cairo, Egypt, to the United States in 1978 after Rami’s father, who was a travel agent and tour guide, became intrigued with Western visitors.
  • After moving to the United States, Rami’s parents settled in Sherman Oaks and mostly stayed in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles County, California.
  • As a child, Rami Malek used to think that he lived a million miles away from Hollywood until he truly found out that Hollywood was just a 10-minute drive from where he lived.
