In July 2002, he had an argument with a man at a nightclub in New York. During the argument, he stabbed a man on his buttocks. On 26 November 2002, he surrendered to the local police.   • After his parents got divorced, Styles, along with his younger brother, stayed with their mother and moved to Yonkers. There, he met his friends Jadakiss and Sheek Louch. While spending time together, they realised that they all three had a passion for hip hop music. They then formed a band named The Lox in 1994.

  • Later, they met the American singer-songwriter Mary J. Blige, who loved the songs of The Lox band. He gave their songs’ demo to the American rapper Sean “Puffy” Combs. Sean also liked their songs and hired them for the music label Bad Boy Records.
